Privacy Policy
Introduction
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Maxima Apps and its affiliates (“Maxima Apps,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collect, use, and share information when you use ResumeIT (the “App”), a resume and cover letter creation application available on iOS, and any related websites or services (collectively, the “Site/App”). By using the Site/App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. Maxima Apps reserves the right to update or change this Policy at any time. If Maxima Apps does make any such changes, the revised Policy will be posted on this Site/App and the effective date will be updated. We sincerely encourage you to periodically review this Policy to stay informed about how we protect your information.
Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to operate the App and provide its features. This may include:
Resume and cover letter content: information you enter or upload to create resumes and cover letters, including your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, and other professional information you choose to include; Job description text: text you paste or upload for the purpose of generating a tailored resume or cover letter; App usage data (such as feature interactions and session activity); Device information (such as device type, OS version, and anonymized identifiers); Advertising identifiers (where permitted and where you have provided consent in accordance with applicable platform requirements); Job search activity, such as search queries and jobs you view or save, as described in the Job Search Feature section below.
We do NOT collect:
Your full contacts list or call logs; Precise real-time location data; Personally identifiable information beyond what you voluntarily provide when creating resumes and cover letters, or when contacting support.
No account required; local data storage
The App does not require you to create an account or sign in, and does not offer sign-in via Apple, Google, or any other third-party identity provider. Your resumes, cover letters, and other documents you create are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a central server-side account or profile associated with your identity, and we do not collect your name or email address for account-creation purposes.
Because your content is stored locally, it is tied to your device rather than to an account. If you delete the App or reset your device, your locally stored resumes, cover letters, and other content will be lost unless you have separately exported or backed them up, including through your device's own backup mechanisms (such as iCloud backup, which is managed by Apple, not by us).
AI-Assisted features and data processing
The App offers a number of features powered by artificial intelligence, including: resume and cover letter creation using AI; resume creation from a job description; AI-generated summaries and professional descriptions; AI chat support for questions; AI-assisted photo editing for your resume photo; and tailored resume templates suggested for specific jobs.
When you use any of these AI-assisted features, the relevant content — for example, your resume details, job description text, chat messages, or the photo you choose to edit — is sent temporarily to our servers and/or trusted third-party AI service providers solely to perform the requested processing and return a result to you (such as generated text, a suggested edit, or a tailored template). This data is not stored persistently on our servers or by our AI service providers once processing is complete. It is retained only for the brief period necessary to perform the requested task, and is not used to train AI models, is not sold, and is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Your finished resumes, cover letters, and other documents are saved locally on your device so you can access and edit them later, as described in the Data Retention section below — this is separate from, and does not affect, how temporary AI processing data is handled.
You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated content for accuracy and appropriateness before using it. See the Terms of Use for further detail on AI-generated content.
Calendar access
The App may request access to your device's calendar to allow you to optionally add job application deadlines, interview appointments, or other job-search-related reminders directly to your personal calendar. Calendar access is only used when you choose to add an event through this feature; the App does not read, browse, or transmit the contents of your existing calendar events. You may revoke calendar access at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars) without affecting your access to other App features, though you will no longer be able to add events directly from the App.
Contact access
The App may request access to your device's contacts to allow you to quickly select a recipient when using the Quick Email feature to send your resume or cover letter. Contact selection happens locally on your device; the App does not upload, store, or transmit your contacts list to our servers, and we do not access, read, or use any contact information other than the specific recipient details you choose for a given email. You may revoke contacts access at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Contacts) without affecting your access to other App features, though you will need to enter recipient email addresses manually.
Notifications
The App may request permission to send push notifications to your device. These notifications are used to enhance your experience with the App, for example, to let you know when an AI-generated resume, cover letter, or other content is ready, to highlight new templates or features, or to share other App-related updates.
Notification permission is optional, and you may disable notifications at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Notifications) without affecting your access to the rest of the App.
No notification is sent for advertising or promotional purposes without your separate and explicit consent.
Job search feature
The App allows you to search for job listings. These listings are compiled by us directly from publicly available sources on the internet; we do not use a third-party job search API or paid data provider to source this content. When you use this feature, we may collect your search queries and the jobs you view, save, or apply to within the App, in order to display relevant results and improve the feature — this activity is stored locally on your device unless otherwise stated in this Policy. Because job listing content is compiled from publicly available sources rather than a verified data feed, we are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, currency, or completeness of listings displayed, and a listing may be outdated or no longer open by the time you view it. If you choose to apply to a job or click through to an external site or application process, that site's own privacy policy and terms will apply to your interaction with it.
Advertising indentifier and tracking
The App may access the Advertising ID (IDFA) provided by your device's operating system for the following limited purposes:
Attribution: To measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and understand which channels led you to download the App; Ad performance measurement: To analyze aggregate advertising campaign performance; Personalized advertising: To serve relevant advertisements within the App, only where you have provided explicit consent in accordance with applicable laws and platform requirements, including Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
The Advertising ID is not linked to your personally identifiable information (such as your name or email address) without your explicit consent, and is not combined with your resume, cover letter, or other document content. You may opt out of interest-based advertising and reset your Advertising ID at any time through your device settings (iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking). Maxima Apps complies with the applicable platform-level consent requirements for advertising tracking, including Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
Install referrer and campaign attribution
The App may collect install referrer data provided by the Apple App Store platform at the time of installation. This information may include the source campaign, advertising network, or referring URL through which you discovered and downloaded the App. This data is collected and used exclusively for marketing performance analysis — specifically, to evaluate the effectiveness of our user acquisition campaigns and allocate marketing resources appropriately. Install referrer data is not used to identify you personally, is not shared with third parties for purposes beyond the attribution functions described herein, and is not combined with your resume, cover letter, or other document content.
In-app purchase and subscription billing
The App offers optional in-app purchases, including premium templates and subscription plans that unlock premium features such as high-ATS templates and AI-generation features. All billing and payment transactions are processed exclusively by Apple Inc. (via the Apple App Store) in accordance with its terms of service and payment processing standards. Maxima Apps does not collect, store, process, or have access to your payment card details, financial account information, or any other payment credentials. Any questions regarding billing, refunds, or subscription management should be directed to Apple through your App Store account settings. Subscription renewals, cancellations, and price changes are governed by the terms you agreed to at the point of purchase through the platform provider.
Transmission and submission of information
Maxima Apps does not guarantee the security of any information transmitted to or from the Site/App. Any material or information you transmit through the App will be used solely for purposes necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the App in accordance with this Privacy Policy. All personal data, including resume and cover letter content, will be handled strictly in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws, and will not be used for purposes beyond those described herein.
Data security
Maxima Apps takes the security of your personal information seriously. We implement and maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information collected through the App against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Where data is transmitted to or from our systems — including when content is sent temporarily for AI processing — we use industry-standard encryption protocols (including TLS/HTTPS) to protect data in transit. Resume and cover letter data stored within the App environment is handled using platform-level security mechanisms provided by iOS.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately using the contact details provided in this Policy.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, as described in this Policy, or as required by applicable laws and regulations. When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or permanently de-identify it. Specifically:
Content sent temporarily to our servers or third-party AI service providers for AI-assisted features (such as AI resume or cover letter generation, AI photo editing, or AI chat support) is not retained beyond the time needed to complete that specific request, as described in the AI-Assisted Features and Data Processing section above; Resumes, cover letters, and other documents you create are stored locally on your device until you delete them, delete the App, or reset your device, as described in the No Account Required; Local Data Storage section above; App usage and analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymized form and does not identify individual users; Job search activity (such as saved or viewed jobs) is stored locally on your device until you delete it, delete the App, or reset your device.
Your rights and data deletion
Because the App does not require an account, most of your data — including your resumes, cover letters, and job search history — is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers. You can delete this data at any time by deleting the relevant content within the App, or by deleting the App from your device, which removes all locally stored data.
For the limited data we do process on our servers (such as content temporarily sent for AI-assisted features, or aggregated analytics and advertising identifiers), depending on your location and applicable law you may have certain additional rights, which may include the right to:
Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you; Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information; Deletion: Request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law; Portability: Where applicable, request that your personal data be provided in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format; Objection / Restriction: Object to or request restriction of certain processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing purposes; Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details set out in the Contact Us section below. We may require you to verify your identity before processing your request. Please note that some of these rights may be limited where we have compelling legitimate grounds or legal obligations to continue processing.
In addition, you may control photo access, calendar access, contacts access, and advertising identifier access at any time through your device's operating system settings, as described in the relevant sections of this Policy above.
Children's privacy
The App and its Services are not directed to, and are not intended for use by, children under the age of 13 years. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us immediately using the contact details provided in this Policy and we will take reasonable steps to delete such information. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it as promptly as possible in accordance with applicable law, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) where applicable.
California and U.S. state privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose about you; the right to delete personal information; the right to correct inaccurate personal information; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising).
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age. Where advertising identifiers are used for interest-based advertising as described in the Advertising Identifier and Tracking section above, this may be considered "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA; you can opt out at any time through your device's Advertising ID settings or by contacting us using the details below. We do not collect or use "sensitive personal information" (as defined under the CCPA/CPRA) for purposes requiring an additional opt-out beyond what is described in this Policy.
To exercise your rights under CCPA/CPRA, please contact us using the details in the Contact Us section below. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.
Residents of other U.S. states with applicable privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and Texas) may have similar rights under their respective state privacy laws. We are committed to honouring such rights to the extent required by applicable law. Please contact us using the details below to exercise any applicable rights.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland Privacy rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent UK and Swiss data protection laws apply to our processing of your personal data. For the purposes of these laws, Maxima Apps is the data controller of the personal information described in this Policy.
We rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information: Performance of a contract, to provide the App and the features you request (for example, creating and saving your resumes, or processing content you submit to AI Features); Legitimate interests, such as securing the App, understanding aggregated usage to improve our features, and preventing fraud, provided these interests are not overridden by your own rights and interests; Consent, where we ask for it, such as for personalized advertising or optional features like calendar or contacts access, which you may withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal; and Legal obligation, where we must process or retain information to comply with applicable law.
Subject to applicable legal requirements, you have the right to: Access the personal information we hold about you; Rectify inaccurate or incomplete personal information; Erase your personal information ("right to be forgotten"); Restrict or object to our processing of your personal information, including for direct marketing or where processing is based on legitimate interests; Receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format and transmit it to another controller (data portability); and Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe our processing of your personal information does not comply with applicable law.
Where AI Features (as described in the AI-Assisted Features and Data Processing section above) are used to generate or edit content for you, the output is provided as a suggestion for your own review and action — we do not use AI Features to make decisions about you that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you without your review and action.
Because Maxima Apps operates from India, personal information collected from users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where such transfers occur, we take steps designed to ensure your personal information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection, including through contractual safeguards with our service providers where required by applicable law.
To exercise any of the rights described in this section, please contact us using the details in the Contact Us section below.
Apple app store privacy labels
In accordance with Apple App Store's Privacy Nutrition Label requirements, we provide a summary of data practices within the App Store listing for this App. The information provided in that store-level disclosure is consistent with and governed by this Privacy Policy. In the event of any conflict between information in the store listing summary and this Policy, this Policy shall govern. We are committed to keeping our store-level data disclosures accurate and up to date whenever there is a material change in our data practices.
Third-party service provider and data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with the following categories of third-party service providers, solely to the extent necessary for them to perform services on our behalf and subject to confidentiality and data protection obligations:
Payment and subscription processing: Apple Inc., to process in-app purchases and manage subscriptions, as described in the In-App Purchases and Subscription Billing section above; AI service providers: to process resume, cover letter, job description, chat, and photo content you submit to AI-assisted features, on a temporary basis only, as described in the AI-Assisted Features and Data Processing section above; Analytics providers: to help us understand aggregated, anonymized App usage trends and improve performance; Crash reporting and diagnostics providers: to help us identify and fix technical issues, using data that does not identify you personally; Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers: to store and process App data securely on our behalf. We do not use a third-party job listing provider; job listings displayed in the App are compiled by us directly from publicly available sources, as described in the Job Search Feature section above.
Each of these service providers is contractually required to use the information we share only for the purposes described above, and not for their own independent marketing purposes. We do not share your resume, cover letter, or other document content with any third party for advertising or marketing purposes. We may also disclose information where required to do so by law, to enforce this Policy, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Maxima Apps, our users, or others.
